Ready to make some magic? Learn to create beautiful thread art by machine-sewing collaged materials into water-soluble fabric. Once the stitching is complete, the fabric is dissolved away, leaving behind a firm, structured “thread drawing.” Your finished piece of art can look as delicate as a spider web or as opaque as stained glass, and can be hung on the wall or used as the basis of other mixed media art. Longer pieces can be worn as a scarf, smaller pieces can be made into a cuff or brooch.

Fabric of Our Lives

People and places often appear like a hazy patchwork quilt in our minds. Layering fabric with acrylic paint can add texture, depth and a little snip of the familiar—making those precious memories all the more vivid or bring abstract compositions out of our imaginations and into life. No experience necessary.

Gem Encrusted Bezel Pendant

Students will work with a variety of semi-precious gem chips and metal bezels to create one-of-a-kind pendants. All supplies including leather cord will be provided.

Wire Wrapped Earrings

Take wire wrapping to the next level! Try your hand at wire weaving with a pair of earrings. A great beginner project. You select your wire and stone color.
